Written on August 18th, 2007 at 4:23 PM: I have no doubt that there is NOBODY coming to this site on purpose, but... with a former average of 500 visitors a day, it's still on the top of a Google search for my name, so... I thought I should write something here to let potential searchers for my name (parents and relatives) know that all my stuff is now at Failed Comics (which ironically neither my parents or relatives should go to). I made it a few days ago, but it's got the new 'Nate Vs.' along with some other stuff. Plus it just looks better than this page. Ugly as it may be though, I'm not changing anything on this site - I still support everything in my sidebar, including 'Conmic' even if Conor's not doing it these days - I can still hold out hope and, like these, the archives are still there to be enjoyed. BYOA's brief run (still my fault) is still there too, folks... until the time comes to renew the account with the server - I haven't talked to Conor lately (or anyone, really) but I can't imagine he's gonna pay $100+ to keep it up. So enjoy it while it lasts, you know? I also still support VG Cats, even if he's been in a bit of a slump as I write this ('Rare Candy' was good though) and even if Scott Ramsoomair's head is in my basement (I can dream!) I was going to change the FAQs though, and I never got around to it, and my friend Alex (the kid with the glasses in the comic about crapping) said that I should mention something: Dwight's fictional. Almost completely. If I had to pick a single person he's based on, I'd say Paul Bergmann, but mostly he's just my subconscious these days. Is FAIL! coming back? Nope. There's still a spin-off with Livia and her boyfriend that I was planning, but it's not even to the point where I would say it's anywhere right now. This is a really weird time to say it, after it's been dead for almost a year, but... thanks again, guys. Despite being a prick most of the way, I had a lot of fun, and I owe it to everyone who read. Thanks so much. *hug* Written on September 15th at 2:54 AM: OKAY! YOU'VE WAITED LONG AND HARD! (hehe) And now, it's finally here. Sort of. You'll see what I mean. Bring Your Own Awesome, baby. Written on September 7th at 7:58 AM: Howdy - wassup? Yeah, I know... still no 'SUCCEED!' as I'm calling it until we settle on a real name - thanks to whoever suggested that, by the way - it was a good idea. Anyway, here's a comic in the meantime, based on a true story in my hallway. I'd post the picture, but it's been regarded very icky. Written on September 4th at 12:49 PM: No, FAIL!'s not back from the dead. It's just looking like the new thing will take longer to bring up, and, whilst sitting in my shiny new dormroom, I started doodling, and then it turned into a little comic and I figured, "fuck it, I'll post it." Yes, that is what I look like now, by the way. Gay little pirate earring and all. About this comic though, okay, odds are, you've had this kind of test before, yes? The kind of test that asks you THE SAME QUESTION, and just BARELY differently worded 100 times? Yeah? For like 2 hours, yes. Lame. OH! And a shout-out to Brandon Lewis. Man... you are the man, man. I really like the way I look with a halo. It kinda makes me wanna die, in a good way of course. ^_^ Written on August 30th at 12:36 AM: What a way to celebrate 200 comics, eh? Okay, now before you get mad, just know that FAIL!'s done. Not me. I'm moving over to a new project. There's a bunch of reasons why FAIL! just wasn't working for me. The new one, I expect, will be better drawn, better written (I'm having a co-author) and you will have a happier author. Isn't that good? That's good, right? You don't want me to be sad now, do you? Anyway, I'd hoped to get the new comic somewhere close to being up by now, but Conor (the writer) has been busy lately and I've been trying to find a comic update program that I understand. Once everything's together and the comic's up, I'll post a link here, so stay tuned. It will certainly be up before the end of September. Yes. I can totally promise that without consulting people. And why is that? (altogether now) BECAUSE NATE WOOTTERS IS AN ASSHOLE! Yayyy! I hope this also explains why I haven't been responding to e-mails. It's been kind of awkward to the few that I have replied to, saying 'thanks' and 'I love you' when I've been planning this awhile. But, to everyone who read and enjoyed FAIL!, I love you, and you are all very special to me, and I really hope you like the new stuff. Cheers. - Nate Wootters Written on August 15th at 11:36 PM: Man, I really hate it when I don't have a comic and I don't have a real reason. All I can give you is that I haven't been feeling funny. No, there hasn't been a break up or anything traumatizing, I just haven't been particularly humorous lately. I don't even like this comic I put up now, and it irks me, because I said I'd only diss my mom if it was really funny, and this isn't. Sorry, mom. I'll start actually doing work around the house, I promise. Written on August 11th at 2:40 PM: Okay, lemme explain what happened: I had just finished doing the comic, right? Yeah, I did. And as I was going to save it, as I do when I'm done, Cockface... sorry... "Windows Updater" decides to install updates or something. I don't even know. Anyway, the combination of Adobe Photoshop's "Save For Web" thing and Cockface makes my computer go 'ouch'. After that, I was just like, "fuck it, I'm not doing that again... not right now anyway" Which brings us to what we have right here. A guestie, yes? A HUGE thank you to Heather Redmond for bailing me out of this. Heather's starting up her own webcomic - I'll post a link when it gets up, yes? This was written awhile ago, as per the graduation theme, but it's still funny I think. Written on August 11th at 6:23 AM: Due to complications with Adobe Photoshop (crashing motherfucker) the comic will be a little late today. (It'll be done when it's done) Sorry for the inconvenience. (penguin) Written on August 9th at 3:17 AM: Okay, I finally added those buttons, and in addition to Press Start to Play and Filler, I'm linking to Noses Optional, which I just LOVE, even if it's not updated very frequently. It's one of those things that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ^.^ Written on August 7th at 4:00 AM: Okay, I had some stuff I wanted to do on this update, but clearly, I was too lazy to make a good comic, so you better believe I'm too lazy to put up links to Press Start To Play and Filler. Oh yeah. I'm lazy like a mo'fo. I'll get to those Wednesday. Really. Written on August 4th at 2:48 AM: Yeah. F'reelz. Steve, if you're reading this, yeah, we're totally fighting now. Totally. Written on August 2nd, at 4:36 AM: Seriously, Mr. Ramsoomair, I don't hate you. I love you. Please cancel the restraining order - I promise I won't do it again unless I'm drunk and you're topless. UPDATE! Phil reminded me that I haven't updated my vote incentive in a long, long time, but fortunately, I came back from my vacay with a sketchbook full of them, so here's the first one. It's a drawing I did while I was waiting in the airport of a guy that I thought looked cool, so I drew him, but in the middle of it, he looked up, and gave me this look that was not quite "what are you doing" but was more... well.... click to find out. Written on July 31st at 1:53 AM: Ahhh... it's good to know that my month away hasn't done anything for my procrastination... there's nothing really to say about this one... um... enjoy, if you want to. Written on July 28th at 1:26 AM: Wow... it's been a fun guest month, hasn't it? Oh, and I got a couple comics in the middle of the guest month, and I'll put them up when I get around to making a guest comic section. It's on my to-do list. This list doesn't get updated much. Sorry guys. Anyway, so I'm back now. It's kind of a weird way to come back, but I thought I'd just jump right into the strange shit. Hope you enjoy ^_^ Written on June 27th at 12:44 AM: Okay, I've gotta catch a plane in a few hours, but first, I give you... THE LINE-UP! June 28th and 30th - Brian Raddatz (The Misadventures of Okk) It should be noted that Brian responded to my comic-asking request in less than six hours. That's skill. July 1st - Jeff Pagenton (Freak Ash) I'm sorry, but I almost completely overlooked the joke, and laughed my ass off at FAIL! being referred to as 'famous' XD July 3rd - Andre D.C. You know that flash animation with the end of the world? The one with 'Fucking Kangaroos'? That's the voice I imagine this being read in. It makes me happy. : ) July 5th - "Dillon" (Combinatorial Explosion) It's true. I invented man-tits. Those things you have, Cheeto-eater? Not the same. Much lamer than mine. July 10th - Matt Ruhl (Dorks Inc.) Hey, dad? Don't read this one. I don't think you can take it. I, on the other hand, am impressed at the use of the f-bomb. I think he dropped it more in this comic than I have... ever. Grats ^^ July 12th - Ron Jara Briones. He included with this submission, the phrase "if you want to change something DO IT" and so I was inclined to draw a bunch of penises on it, but I was feeling benevolent. July 14th - Robbie Gradie (Filler) If you've been around here long enough, you may remember when I linked to Filler, and when I was having seemingly random messages addressed to "Robbie"... sooo... this is that dude. I should put that link back up. July 17th - Corey Schwartz (Schwartz Comix) Um.... whoooo.... wow... soo... Will and Chaz teamed up to kill Nate and Corey... and then they made out.... Makes sense to me. July 19th and 21st - Jeff Cody (Upheaval) I like these a lot. He really gets Dwight's puffed-out chest into full drive. Seriously. Hell, he got all the characters dead on. I give this a B+. Points off because you didn't include a bibliography. July 24th - Stephen Southworth (Sharing A Universe) Ah, the big closer! And what better way to wrap it up than with senseless violence? Written on June 26th at 1:22 AM: So, anyway, I have 13 guest pieces, so I figured I'd start my break a little early. This is one from Lexx, who is a much better artist than I could ever hope to be. Check out her deviantART here. It's hot. And also... I have a lot of stuff in my inbox.... it's really
ancient, some of it... I'll try to get around to responding to it....
I'm sorry. |
